Our fourth month is FINALLY here! This month is all about electricity. There are so many awesome things planned throughout the month and I can’t wait to dive in! We have some amazing guest posts, another giveaway, and fantastic yoga & meditation challenges.
The theme of electricity seems pretty straightforward, doesn’t it? Well, we’re going to flip things up a bit and take a new perspective on the subject. This month we will be focusing some attention on the amount of electricity we consume within our homes & workplaces, but more importantly we’ll be looking into the electricity we create within.
Without electricity our brains wouldn’t work, much like the computer you’re reading this on. Everything we do is controlled by electrical signals within our body. It’s pretty simple actually…just think back to high school physics…
Our bodies are made up of atoms which contain protons[positive], neutrons[neutral], and electrons[negative]. An atom becomes either positively or negatively charged when the protons, neutrons, and electrons are out of balance. When the charge switches, electrons flow from one atom to another. This flow of negatively charged electrons is electricity.
We’ll look into the science of the electricity within us as the month continues. For now let’s get into the challenge!
1. Revisit the meditation Feeling the Inner Body everyday this week
2. Count the number of lights you have on in the house every few hours.
If you’re cooking dinner, pause for a moment, walk around the house and count all of the lights that are turned on. Do this at least 5 times during the day. If you can fit more into your day, great!
3. Track the electronics that remain on & plugged in.
This can be a stereo, toaster, computer, ect.
Try to become aware of the electronics in your home. Remember this week isn’t about change, it’s about awareness. Do what you can to see the lights that are on and if they’re necessary.
